Code of Conduct

Last updated: November 1, 2025

Healthcare Education & Consulting is committed to a safe, respectful and professional learning environment. The following standards apply to all students.

Unacceptable conduct

The following conduct is not tolerated:

  • All forms of bias (including race, ethnicity, gender, disability, national origin and creed) expressed through verbal, written or physical acts.
  • Sexual harassment, including creating a hostile environment or coercing sexual favors.
  • Any form of proven dishonesty: cheating, plagiarism, knowingly furnishing false information, forgery, or alteration or misuse of institutional documents.
  • Any violation of HIPAA or patient-privacy law.
  • Intentional disruption or obstruction of teaching, administration or school activities.
  • Physical or mental abuse of any person on school premises or at school functions.
  • Theft of, or damage to, school property or the property of others in the school community.
  • Failure to comply with the lawful directions of school officials.
  • Violation of the law on school premises, including the use of alcohol or controlled substances.

Attendance

Students are expected to attend 100% of their program. Absenteeism beyond program limits may trigger review by the school director, and students exceeding 20% absence risk being dropped. Students who anticipate extended absence may request an official leave of absence in writing.

Grounds for dismissal

  • Not adhering to the school's rules, policies and code of conduct.
  • Missing more than 20% of instruction time.
  • Not maintaining the minimum grade-point average (80% to graduate).
  • Not meeting financial responsibilities to the school.

The school director will notify a dismissed student in writing with the date and reason. Prepaid tuition is refunded according to the refund policy.

Complaints & appeals

Students with a complaint, or who wish to appeal a dismissal, may request a meeting with the school director in writing. The request should include the student's name, a statement of the concern (with dates and people involved), the date and signature, and three available meeting dates within 10 business days. Every effort is made to reach an amicable resolution; where needed, a panel of instructors will hear the matter. The student is notified of the outcome in writing within five business days.
