How long does it take to get certified?

It depends on the program, from a few hours for CPR and safety courses to 40-300 hours for career certifications. Every course page lists its hours.

Do I need experience or prerequisites?

Career (AMCA) programs require you to be 18+, hold a high-school diploma or GED, read and do math at a 9th-grade level, and have basic English. Short safety courses have no prerequisites.

Will this help me get hired, and is it recognized?

Yes. AMCA, AHA and HSI certifications are nationally recognized and OSHA-compliant, and our career programs include resume and interview help.

How long is my certification valid?

Most certifications are valid about two years. You renew with CEUs or by retaking the course, both offered by NJHEC.

Are courses online or in person?

We use a hybrid model: some content is self-paced online, some is hybrid, and some is fully in person. Delivery mode is marked on each course.

Is instruction available in Spanish?

Yes, select courses can be taught in Spanish, though exams are in English.
